For the first Visiting Artist & Lecture Series we will host Irina Gheorghe. Irina Gheorghe’s work addresses themes such as absence, displacement and disappearance while reflecting on the relationship between ephemeral artistic media and entities or spaces inaccessible to observation. 

VALS: Sarah Boris – Multi-practice: a journey in art & design

Sarah Boris is an artist and designer who's practice encompasses book making, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, painting and design. She started out working as graphic designer for some of the biggest cultural institutions before setting up her own studio to focus on her art practice.

VALS: Vjera Borozan – Between Expansion and Inclusion

Vjera Borozan is an art historian, educator and curator. She worked with the internet platform for contemporary art ArtyÄŤok TV, the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Brno University of Technology, the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Prague, the National Museum in Montenegro and the contemporary art initiative tranzit.cz.

One, from the vantage point of a graphic novelist, where he explores early post-apocalyptic literature, and considers its potential to expand our visual vocabulary around climate collapse.

Patrick Thomas is a graphic artist, author and educator. He studied at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art
in London before relocating to Barcelona in 1991. He currently lives and works in Berlin, Germany. He will talk about his decision to concentrate on projects that take place in public spaces.
