About Session

In this workshop we will briefly explore science behind mindfulness meditation, delving into the exciting research findings that underscore the power of this practice, and learning about how and why mindfulness works. The focus of this workshop is sending participants home with a basic understanding of mindful awareness meditation, in order to help cultivate a deeper understanding and practical application of mindfulness in navigating challenging emotions, particularly anxiety.

Together, we’ll practice three different mindful awareness meditation practices; Mindfulness, Effortless Awareness, and a Loving Kindness meditation. By the workshop’s end, you’ll not only gain insights but also practical tools to embody a sense of belonging.

Lecturer: Jesse Einhorn-Johnson

Jesse Einhorn-Johnson is currently in the MA Fine Art program at PCU. She is also a mindfulness facilitator, trained through the Mindful Awareness Research Center at University of California Los Angeles. She holds a BFA in Filmmaking from UNCSA and specifically likes to guide mindfulness practices geared toward artists and creatives, recognizing that many in this community struggle with the voice of the inner critic, feelings of inadequacy, neurodivergence, anxiety, and other big feelings. With a commitment to mindfulness and meditation practices, Jesse aspires to share transformative benefits, guiding others towards a path of greater well-being and equanimity. Join her in this mindfulness meditation workshop, working through difficult emotions and befriending inner dialogue. Are you often distracted – even when not formally diagnosed with attention deficit? Do you struggle with time management, staying focused and connecting with others? In this session we will look at the challenges and deeper causes of being scattered and experience some methods to help us settle our minds, develop more clarity and self-leadership.

Capacity of workshop is 15 people.
