Where have all the flowers gone? PCU exhibition

Second year students from BA (Hons) Fine Art Experimental Media have collaborated with cultural association Krajinou přílivu, to curate and organise an exhibition entitled ‘Where Have All the Flowers Gone’, opening June 2 at 19.00, at the Libeň Synagogue in Prague 8.

The exhibition will explore recovery and revival following a period of decline and hardship. The presented artworks make this natural and social cycle visible, as does the famous song ‘Where Have All the Flowers Gone’, an international anthem for anti-war movements.

Recovery and revival is also the story of the beautiful Libeň Synagogue which dominates the busy crossroads in Palmovka, bearing testimony to the historical developments that the quarter has undergone. Periods of material and spiritual decay were inherent to these developments, in which the synagogue survived so that its space could become a place of lively gatherings once again.

The exhibiting artists from PCU will be Asûde Alkaya, Gauhar Ametova, Irina Antonez, Rebeka Csombordi, Daryna Shliakhtova, Daniel Tebano and Emma Valisova von Sanger. There will also be a performance at 8pm from Eglė Šimėnaitė at the opening of the exhibition.
