On November 18 at 5pm you are invited to a screening of Orwa Al Mokdad’s latest feature length documentary 300 Miles.
In the film Orwa starts a journey from Daraa in the south to Aleppo in the north of Syria to understand the reasons that have shattered this arab region for years and the distance that has grown in the past 5 years since the beginning of the Syrian war.
After the screening Orwa will partake in a Q&A about the film and his career as a Journalist and Filmmaker.
Orwa was born in Damascus, Syria and resides in Beruit, Lebanon. He has worked for several Syrian and pan-Arab newspapers and reported for Al Jazeera and the BBC since the Syrian insurrection that began in 2011. Orwa has written several films and TV series, scrips and investigative journalistic pieces and is the Writer and Director of several award-winning documentary films including Street Music, Under Aleppo Sky and Under the Tank. His latest feature 300 Miles won the Best Film prize at Doclisboa International Film Festival Lisbon and the Edward Snowden prize at Internacional Festival Signos de la Noite, Paris.
