A former journalist, Scott served as the speechwriter of Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, the founder of BRAC.

The story of Fazle Hasan and the organisation that he set up is remarkable. BRAC is responsible for 100,000 employees and assists more than 100 million people across Asia and Africa.

In Bangladesh, where it began, Abed’s work gave rise to “some of the biggest gains in the basic condition of people’s lives ever seen anywhere,” according to The Economist. His methods have changed the way global policymakers think about poverty.

This is an open to the public event which offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from the author who will shine a light on the work of Fazle and what we can learn from him in order to combat global poverty.
