Film Nights presents The Vasulka Effect (2019) – an intimate portrait that reintroduces the pioneers of video art — the Vasulkas — for a new generation. Their history with video dates back to the late 60s when they lived and worked in New York. Some have called them the grandparents of the “YouTube generation” or “grandparents of video art”. Directed by Hrafnhildur Gunnarsdóttir, The Vasulka Effect is a documentary recapitulating their life and innovative work.
