Ants and Other Strong Things
28 May @ 18:00 - 19:00
We are excited to announce that students from PCU will perform at the 23rd annual Prague Fringe Festival.
Written by MA Fine Art student Raynar Rogers, Ants and Other Strong Things is a truly moving production centred around stories from queer childhoods. The cast and collaborators will work with scripted, devised and physical theatre to present a story that will make you laugh, cry and question why love is always at war.
There will be three performances at A Studio Rubin during the festival. We strongly advise that you purchase your tickets ahead of time as the fringe shows often sell out.
Prices for students’s tickets are reduced.

About
In the midst of a rapidly evolving cityscape in the 2050s, Maya and Charlie find their relationship tested as anti-queer laws resurface, threatening their very existence. As the International Cyberspace Order tightens its grip on society with invasive surveillance measures, the couple must choose between standing true to their beliefs or succumbing to the oppressive regime.
Caught between loyalty to each other and the pressure to conform, Maya and Charlie must make a gut-wrenching decision on who to protect in a world where the stakes are higher than ever before.
A collective of artists, mostly from Prague City University, have come together to create a charming and intense play based on a queer couple living in the 2050s under the pressure of anti-queer laws. As the Cyberspace Order makes it their mission to control
the behavior of the population, together, this couple will decide whether their core values align and who they will protect when the stakes are high.
The play is scripted while also incorporating experimental elements of movement, sound, and video. The production seeks to confront current questions surrounding reality and conspiracy and disrupt belief systems that are selective and heavily influenced by
powerful forces within leadership and media.
A collective of artists from PCU is taking on various roles in order to achieve the best possible outcome. From writing to set design, from filming to promoting, students of Prague City University took on cooperative work with joy and passion in their doings.
