Prague City Architecture Walk: City Centre from Medieval to Modern

FreeRetracing the historic coronation processional from Kutná Hora, we start at Hybernská (PCU campus) and work our way to the Charles Bridge and up Nerudova to the Castle.
You will learn about the history of the Royal Court, the Powder Tower, the Czech ‘Wall Street’, the Old Town Square, Little Square (including the house at number 144/1 where Angelus of Florence had his pharmacy in the 1360s), the oldest street in Prague (Karlova street, and one of the first cafes in Europe, dating from 1714.
We cross the Charles Bridge to Malostranské náměstà learning about the history of the Thirty Years’ War before climbing Nerudova with its quaint house signs to the first courtyard of the castle. At 11.45 am you will see the changing of the Guard ceremony.
