Neuromedia: BCI, Brainwaves & Biofeedback in Art and Science
Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) technologies are rapidly reaching their maturity. Recently, a growing community of international artists have been exploring the boundaries of brain signal-based interaction in cinema and media installations. In the following years we will witness the blending of BCI and augmented human technologies across health, education, tourism, art and entertainment media. These combined technologies are know as Neuromedia.
An example of art and neuroscience mix is “Neurocinema”, where interactive cinema technologies are linked with brain monitoring for implicit and unconscious interaction with media content. Enactive cinema tightly couples human experience and narrative updates.
The lecture will take place in Room 001-002 (Blanicka entrance) at PCU’s Polska Campus and is also open to the general public.
